The Onderdonk House has more than historic value. It is a meeting place for numerous nonprofits and associations serving the Manhasset community.
The Strathmore Association has held numerous social and informational events at the House. On October 20 we held our annual block party. We’ll be having a Christmas party with Santa on December 14, 2019. And very soon after that, please plan on attending our St. Patrick’s Day party and an Easter Egg Hunt. Watch for our emails.
Girl Scouts / Boy Scouts
The Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts use the Onderdonk House for monthly meetings. Many of them show their appreciation with beautification projects.

Moms, Couples and Children
Manhasset is known as a family town and the Mothers Group of Manhasset provides a welcoming open door with social events for mothers, couples and children and support in times of need through its Sunshine Committee.
The Onderdonk House and grounds have been the site of the Mothers Group Fall Festival, with pony rides, face painting, and crafts, as well as its membership kickoffs and its Board meetings.
Every December the Greater Council of Manhasset Civic Associations holds its monthly meeting at the House.
The Bayview Civic Association has held its annual Kentucky Derby social at the Onderdonk House each May.
The Shorehaven Civic Association has held numerous membership events at the House.
The local network of Au Pair Childcare providers has held a holiday party at the Onderdonk House the last two years, offering networking and holiday cheer at a time when they are far from home.
The Manhasset Women’s Coalition Against Breast Cancer has used the House for meetings of its care coaches who provide assistance to women with breast cancer and its junior coalition members (high school girls) who provide community service and fundraise.
The DeRosa Foundation has used the House to prepare auction items for its annual fundraiser to fight colon cancer.
A local mindfulness teacher has used the House to teach and practice meditation for a six-week session.
